I was using the place of registration of the marriage. Would Calverley marriages be registered in Bradford after 1837? My problem is geography – I only discovered Tong, Calverley, Idle etc 18 months ago. My only contact with Bradford was on a train from Leeds to Halifax in the 1950s. Bear with me.
What I have is (FreeBMD except where stated:

John married Mary Lumby 20/10/1834 Bradford (IGI); Kezia Hemingway 1846 Leeds 1st 23 416.
Mary Ann married John Snowden. No data.
Ruth married James Marsden 1838 Bradford 1st 23 184.
Thomas married Martha 1845 Bradford 1st 23 231.
Joseph married Elizabeth Preece 1841. Under investigation.
Benjamin married Sarah Sykes 1841 Bradford 1st 23 157
Martha married Henry Brook 1842 Bradford 2nd 23 181
Maria. Who is Maria?
Harrison never married.

Maria comes from the IGI baptised 23 May 1824, Bradford, but I can't find any other reference to her.  Sue believes that she died as a child.  They must have been a hardy lot, our BEARDER's.  To loose only one child out of 14 was very good indeed, or Bowling was a very healthy place to live in those days.  Maybe it was the iron in the water?  I wonder how they compared to the normal population death statistics?

Bob,
I was always amazed at my mother's family of 9 Bearders. The first 7, 1890 - 1902, doesn't even allow time for a miscarriage. The last 2 were 1907 and 1909, but anecdotal evidence from uncles, cousins and even grandmother herself, as well as the record, says there were none in between. They all made it to adulthood, though they were susceptible to heart attacks - the youngest at 30.

Maria Bearder was baptised 23 May 1824 in Bradford Parish Church. She was buried in 1825. Text from Dudley Hill Wesleyan Burial Register: Maria Bearder daughter of John and Hannah Bearder age 14 months. Residence Bowling. Interred in grave 24 June 1825.
