I have been collaborating with Bob on Joseph Bearder, son of John Bearder. The collaboration consisted mostly of questions by me answered by Bob. Here are the results.

Joseph Bearder, bapt. 18/10/1818, Bradford (IGI), parents John Bearder and Hannah Harrison. Died 1869, Bradford (4th 9b 36, age 51).
Eliza Preece, bapt. 28/4/1821, Darrington, Yorks, parents Thomas Preece and Mary X. Died 1901, Bradford (1st 9b 5, age 79).
Joseph Bearder and Eliza Preece married 1841, Bradford (1st 23 140).
They had 6 children (all born in Bowling, dates from census returns).
Hannah 1842; Henry 1847; Mary Jane 1850; Emma 1853; Harrison 1856; Ann Eliza 1859.

Other information.
1841. Joseph, Eliza Bearder living at Back Lane, Bowling with Thomas (1801, not Yorks), Mary (1801, not Yorks) Preece and their children Ann Christiana (bapt. 26/5/1822, Darrington), Charles (1826, Yorks) and Jane (1832, Yorks).
1851. Joseph and Eliza living at Broad Lane, Pudsey with Hannah, Henry and Mary Jane, as well as Ann Brook (widow, sister-in-law, 1822, Darrington) and her son, Samuel (1848, Bowling). Ann Christiana Preece married John Brook, 1847, Bradford (2nd 23 177).
1861. Joseph and Eliza living at Rileys Yard, Back Lane, Bowling with Hannah, Henry, Mary J., Emma, Harrison and Ann Eliza.
1871. Eliza (Head) living at Back Lane (Artillery Arms) Bowling with Henry, Emma, Harrison and Ann Eliza as well as son-in-law James Mitchell (1849), daughter Mary Jane and their daughter Alice (1871). Mary Jane Bearder married James Mitchell, 1871, Bradford (1st 9b 37).
1881. Eliza (Head) living at 3 Broad Lane, Pudsey with Harrison, Ann Eliza and a niece, Clara Taylor (1877, Bradford).
1891. Eliza (Head) living at 29 Broad Lane, Pudsey with granddaughters Alic and Emma (Bradford, 1873) Mitchell and a visitor, Bertha Bearder (Laister Dyke, Yorks, 1889). Where or what is Laister Dyke?

Since we are dealing with Joseph Bearders, I have no information except the birth (1827) on Joseph, son of George. On Joseph son of William (1831), he seems to have married a Mary X. in the 1851 census, but then disappears. I have no information on Joseph (1841), son of Benjamin. Does anyone else have anything on these 3?

I think that Joseph Bearder son of Benjamin born c 1841 married Esther Norton. I deduced this as in the 1871 census Joseph and Esther have children Eliza, Martha and Arthur (seriously!), and Joseph's stepdaughter Jemima Norton. On the 1881 census she is referred to as 'daughter' although the word 'wife's' was originally in front of daughter but is crossed out. The 1891 census shows Joseph, Esther, Timimia (?) N Bearder, daughter, and Arthur N Bearder, son. The census enumerator presumably had a problem with spelling Jemima, but it seems as though she is now acknowledged as his daughter.
